Yes it's true! There are more and more new products being released each year, and lots of modelers are taking notice.

We are seeing lots of new members here, (Welcome Everyone) and lots of names we recognise from the other scales contributing here now. It's a great time to be in Z Scale.

In growing with the scale, Trainboard has recruited John (Shamoo737) to help moderate this forum. Most of you are already familiar with John's excellent collection of CSX models, and are looking forward to see what he shows us next. We are happy to welcome John to this role, and be able to offer another moderator to make your forum experience here as plesant and smooth as possible.

We also invite all our less active members to feel free to post anything about the scale, no matter if you are seeking advice, offering advice, sharing photos of your progress, etc. We are a friendly bunch, and there is no such thing as a stupid question, only an unanswered question. ;)

Thanks guys. I will be happy if I can keep it the way it is. This is such a friendly forum. I dont remember having a argument or being rude to each other, and I hope we can keep it that way.

Charlie, it sounds you are sufferring from a serious case of z, fortunatly there is no cure. :D

Present growth of Z, reminds me of the late 1970's, early 1980's of N scale. When NTRAK provided the vehicle of it's great expansion.

I love what you Z modelers do on this forum. I take a look at the "What's on your workbench?" thread all the time to get ideas and inspiration. I figure if you guys can do it at 1:220 scale, there's got to be some way I can do it at 1:160, even if it means giving in and eventually buying some "geezer goggles" as my club calls Optivisors.

I am also dabbling a bit in Nn3, so I look here for track tips and chassis recommendations and the like, since it is basically Z scale track and chassis that Nn3ers use.

We took our traveling NTrak modules to a show over the summer, and one of the best setups I saw there was the Z club. There was even a guy there working on Zn3. Wow!

I am an N-Scaler, but visit this Z-scale forum regularly. Like Adam says, if it can be done in 1:220.... I am impressed by the ingenuity of Z scalers, much like the N scalers of old. I have one Z scale set, but have been watching as the new releases come out. As a MEC fan, Z has the F7 which passes for a late F3, the GP9, the GP7 and the soon to be out E7. All on the MEC roster. I feel myself being pulled to the tiny-side!!

I say "Go for it CG!" I was into N and heavily invested too, but started dabbling in Z, and the next thing I knew, N Scale stuff was not small enough. After 1 year of messing with Z, I stopped purchasing N Scale stuff, and realized I was completely hooked on Z.

It was actually running a train on a few short modules that did it for me. Just 20 feet of club modules at the show feels like running a 40' x 40' Ntrak layout. You can run the trains slower than you run N Scale trains, and they still look like they are moving a decent clip, and scenery goes much further.
