Hello folks, I am new to this forum, but not new to Z-scale... This June I and two of my friends went to the bianual Märklin modellbahn treff in Göppingen, Germany. (the hometown of Märklin)

And here are my pictures of the Z-scale layouts on the show:

Heine, what a huge range of layouts, large and small! Just shows what can be acheived in Z without needing lots of space [IMG]

Thanks for the show report - and a warm welcome to trainboard [IMG]

Welcome to Trainboard Heine, and thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures. [IMG]

There is so much to see, and lots of great ideas to incorporate into my own modeling efforts. I wish I could have made it to that show. :D

These layouts look interesting, but they don't exactly look like our style. I like the complicated switchwork and the mathematically precise track arrangement I see all the time on German layouts, but it all looks a bit too regular. I guess that comes from sectional track, and given that, it looks great. I'd like to see anyone use Atlas track and get those arrangements! Still, does anyone over there care about tight S-curves and steep grades? [IMG] I'll end with a cliched compliment: That engine terminal doesn't look like Z; I'd guess N. And a less common one: That square-rigger is absolutely exquisite! How many people have one of those?

Welcome! What a fantastic way to introduce yourself! Absolutely great pictures! The train in a TV is great. So many great ideas there. Thanks for sharing the pictures. A picture can give so many more ideas. After looking at all of those my head is filled with ideas. [IMG]

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I have been a bit frustrated of the Yahoo Z-scale forum where it is not posible to show pictures... So I am glad I found this one. [IMG] I will start a new thread with more about my own Z-scale projects. [IMG]

Hello Heine!, I'm also new here [IMG] I totally agree on the Yahoo forum. The way the message system works there is also a bit messy in my opinion. A forum like this one is much more better to view [IMG]

Many thanks for the pictures!, the quality is really good! [IMG]

Well, I hope to see lots more of all your guy'Z work posted here.

Trainboard makes it easier to keep track of topic's than the Yahoo list does, and posting photo's in the topic's is so much easier than hunting through the photo and files folders.

Even topic's that are a year old are easy to find, so topic's that don't interest you today, but may at a later time, are still handy.

Welcome, and let the posting party begin! :D [IMG]

Hopefully a lot more Z-scalers will discover the benefits of this kind of forum. It's so much knowledge out there, and it's so much easier to share it when you can post som pictures to illustrate. [IMG]

So that aluminium stuff was the track I presume? How many meters? ;)

And this the only dragtrain competing or were there more? [IMG] 90km/h is quite a lot!

I like this picture :D , these are "Table Top Truck Trials"

Yes, that's the track. I think it was about 25 meters maybe. We actually didn't see so much action, they had some problems with the tracks, and the trains kept derailing. And Porsche had a factory team with their own locomotive. Anyway its wrong scale... So we didn't spend much time with this. Dragracing is much more fun with real cars. [IMG]

The RC-cars were funny. The table top trial was a real challenge to the H0 cars with no suspension. And it was a lot of forwards and backwards to get around the tightest curves. [IMG]

    Greats pics! Thanks for sharing!

I agree that this forum has many more advantages than the Yahoo list. I wish the others who currently post on Yahoo would come over here and join us.

Yeah, me too. I'm sure things will pick up this fall, as we have lots of new members here. I have been too busy working on my new module, and have not spent much time posting lately. We have 2 new Z members today, so that's good news.

I too am really enjoying this forum, and couldn't agree more with it's superior method of permitting a member not only to post information - but to more importantly follow a subject (thread).

More in line with this thread, I really enjoyed these show pictures. Like others, what attracts me to Z is the challenge of scratchbuilding in such a small scale, but more so, the superior ability of this scale to allow me to build a model of a railway (long sweeping curves, big factories, etc)

Having a blast here, back to the workbench now.
