OK thought I would start another one of these infamous posts.

Show us your top two favorite model shots. It doesnt have to be your own personnal model or foto but one that you really like. Tell us why you like the shots.

I will start with two of my most favorite shots taken of recently.

The first shot is one of my favorite as it depicts the 4 MOPAC's I currently have on my roster. This pic was taken at Sydney N scale

The second shot is a staged shot on my layout showing the UP and two of its predecessors

I have a few others to show but will let a few more of you guys posts your favorite fotos.

Some of my favourite model photos from various travels...

A Main St. scene on Ray and Rene Grosser's Soo Line layout, seen and operated at the 2001 SLH&TS Convention in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

A couple of shots from Bob Rivard's Soo Line layout in Minneapolis taken during a visit in 2001.

A shot of a westbound Soo freight about to cross the grade crossing with the Minnesota Commercial at New Brighton....

.... and the overbridge to the east of Cardigan Junction, St Paul, crossing I35E and Soo St (to right of I35E) between Cardigan Jcn and Withrow.

Here's a photo of the lumber mill on the O Scale Red Stag Lumber Company layout, taken during the Hills District MRS 2000 exhibition. This was the first showing of this layout and workmanship was impecable.

And last, but not least, a shot of a pair of Soo Line SD40-2's a long way from home on run-through duties on the Andersley and Western (RIP) ;)

Thanks, Paul. I have driven under that particular bridge several times including on Soo St. whilst heading up to Cardigan Jcn.
Bob's layout is VERY well known within the Upper Midwest modelling circles. His work is of a high standard and he has the distinction of having modelled every GP30 Soo owned (22)!

As for running on the layout, I can't say I did.... the following photo will explain.... [IMG]

Alan, that was a nice little layout you had. I still consider you a splitter, a traitor to the cause...! :D

The first three shots are not my work, but the fantastic work of a member of Northeast Ntrak. The detail work on this station is phenomenal:

    First an overall shot
    [IMG]

Now a close-up of the entrance. Notice all the detail – including the chandelier on the inside.

Now an even closer shot. The inside is a bit out of focus, but you can see all the detail through the window. This member spared no expense for detail.

Now here is a shot featuring my own work (hard to follow up that station with anything impressive from my layout). The weathering job on a boxcar is something I spent a while on.

    Jason,
The Red Stag (0n3) is still around but not for exhibitions, Geoff Nott is re-building this at his home.
    Cheers

    Paul,
Yep part of his home layout, getting covered in HO track I think, still a shame it wont be seen anymore.
These two photo's are my fav for the time being,Bruce McClintock was a fine man,a very capable engineer (built the first monster trucks around!).Had time for everybody & would do anything for anybody,I spent some great arvo's running his K36 live steam around the Luddenham tracks, lots of great memories.

Bruce, the background scenery on this looks superb, was it photographed outside by any chance? [IMG]

I like this one even if the semaphores are showing clear in both directions. I guess the crew was following the rules when they came to a stop to wait to see if they correct themselves. :D
    [IMG]
I liked the location behind my photo diorama for this setup. I will have to go back there someday before BNSF pulls up all the telegraph poles.
