John, if I could get hold of a Con-Cor Budd, I would probably re-power it someway. It certainly looked OK. ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com
I have hope for a RDC in N scale. With the announcement of LL doing them in HO, I am think it is possible that htyey could consider doing an N scale RDC. Preferably Phase I Happy Railroading! Take a Train! and, Take Care! Dane N. ------------------ TAMR2860-AKA BC Rail King TAMR2860@hotmail.com

I've got a 3-car set of Con-Cor Budd RDC-2, in PRR livery. Set runs okay, some pause at switches but speed overcomes it. They look great crossing a bridge at eye level. Only small problem. Only one 4 wheel power truck has a rubber wheel thread on inside set of wheels. This causes the other set of wheels to lift up and twist to side. If leading, this causes it to jump off rail, mainly at power ups. Haven't tried running without rubber thread or adding block to stop truck from lifting up? I added extra weight to the dummy units to make them track a little better. Changed the rapido couplers to Kato for better look. And I added lighting to the head end car(white), tail end car (red). Effect looks good. Units run at pretty good speed. I can't run them together on main with other trains and control them. They might work well under DCC. ..Eddie ------------------ Eddie Delozier PRR N-scale deloziers.com eddelozier@yahoo.com [This message has been edited by eddelozier (edited 08 May 2000).]
I have almost found that DCC doesn't work magic in N scale, It does improve some things, but I find the differnce way more signifigant in N Scale. I frankly, still think the RDC's wouldn't be good, even with assistance from DCC Happy Railroading!! Dane N. ------------------ TAMR2860-AKA BC Rail King TAMR2860@hotmail.com

LL loco's have always been made by LL.

Max, I'll have to give them a try. The last time I used a LL loco was (I hate to say this...) about 15/16 years ago! Perhaps they've learned the hard way how cheap doesn't cut it anymore. Best, John

Although, I heard that you can put an Atlas or Kato motor in. I'm afraid of fiddling with mechanical things like motors and such... My eyes can't see small parts anymore... John
talking of the RDC Kato must make some japan model that has about the same wheel base as the RDC one of those could be put under it ------------------ wheres all the C636's???? stickymonk.com Matts Photo gallery
