You know you're a railfan when you refer to the freeway exits as diverging routes

When someone asks to see pictures of your family and all you have in your wallet are shots of locos you rode on.

Ever chased trains while wearing scrubs? I have.

You know you're a railfan when.......

you get off work on the night shift, swing by the apartment long enough to grab a camera, and head west on US30 to chase the 3985 over Sherman Hill- all the time still wearing the scrubs you worked in last night.

Yes, I was the only person on Sherman Hill and Laramie, WY in scrubs last year to chase 3985 over Sherman Hill on her run to the Pacific Northwest. Hemi is a witness (reluctant witness, too........) to that.

I love when long freights pass while I'm at the crossing, which is a rarity.

When you open the new credit card envelope and discover that your account number is 3751-3985-4449-0261. :teeth:

When you play the lottery using the following numbers:
    15,22,16,30,45,24
(only a diehard Frisco fan would get this one)

1630 is a 2-10-0 decapod originally built for Imperial Russia, but never shipped becaus of the Bolshevik Revilution of 1917. Frisco got quite a few of these Russians, and five of them are saved- the 1630 is in service at the Illinois RR Museum.

The 4524 is a Northern, last in the 4500 series Frisco had. It's stuffed & mounted at Grant Park in Springfield, MO (a/k/a Mecca for Friscophiles ;) )

When you start referring to road construction delays as "slow orders"......

When you refer to traffic signals as red board, yellow board, or green board....

When you refer to a trip to the bathroom as "setting out a bad order"...
