After looking at some of the G scale layout photos and seeing a -9 somewhere, I think im hooked. Alas, living in an apartment isnt conducive to building in G scale :D

Can anyone point me in the direction of good manufacturers?

All the track is sectional right? At least that i've seen.

And just anything else you want to throw in.

    Thanks!

Well, I'm not modeling in the scale. But have looked at it and daydreamed..... Here are a couple of the larger manufacturers I've surfed.

    www.usatrains.com

    www.aristocraft.com

Maybe some day when i have more room. And money...

I was just looking at LGB's site and drooling over a 2-6-0 Mogul...

My interest is more towards mid era steam, Moguls and Connies rather the the big articulateds.

    Gabriel,
Depends on what scale you want to run. If US NG then you need to go for 1:20.3 scale & that is pretty much the main domain of Bachmann. Their offerings in the last 8 years are top of the tree in quality & affordability & especially detail. LGB is bullet-proof but scale jumps all over the place. They advertise their trains as for the toy market rather than for modellers.
Standard gauge is well represented but USA & Aristocraft but bear in mind that their scale of 1:29 is incorrect for 45mm track, being oversize by about 10%. Correct scale for SG is 1:32 but unless you have deep pockets the models are spendy.

As for track, curves come in sectionals from 4' all the way to 20' radius while straights start at 1' but 3', 5'. 8' & maybe 10' straights also available. You can also buy 6' lengths of just rail & build your own track.
