    FYI
A coal train derailed just West of Grove KS, on the Marysville Sub, last night. The thru truss over Soldier Creek was totaled. Whether the train derailed and took out the bridge or the bridge failed and took out the train has not been determined yet. This is about 18 miles NW of Topeka KS. I would guesstimate the truss span was about 100', so it is going to be while before the line is reopened.

Please post up any news on the cause. If failure, this would be the second time in less than two months that a UP bridge went down. And I'd start wondering what's going on....

Still no cause pinpointed. A shoefly detour with a temporary bridge is expected to be opened up sometime tonight. The new permanent bridge will take several months. Approximately 150 men have been working at the site since the wreck Sunday night
