I know the location of some MILW ABS target signals. They are sitting just rusting away in a secret location. Well between me, a friend of mine, and a local museum (who is chomping at the bit to know where they are) we are trying to rescue at least one. I would like to rescue all of them, which I think is a total of 5 or 6. I would LOVE to have one in my yard for a decoration, but I think that will be wishful thinking.

Hmmm. These cannot be along the right of way, as I know who was contracted to salvage them. I wonder if these are leftovers, which at one time he had some stacked in his yard....

Actually Ken, they are stacked along the ROW. Rusting away back in the weeds. Along with some timbers and boards rotting away from the Humpback snowshed.

Wow. I am really surprised. I wonder why these were left? The person I referenced is usually quite thorough.

Dont know either Ken. I was surprised when my (then fiance) wife and I were biking John Wayne and I stumbled across these. The glass is all shot out of them, thanks to vandals. That is only a small setback though. I know the signal heads are there. I can't remember if the masts and relay boxes were there or not. I will have to do some more thorough investigating soon now that the weather is getting nice again.

Well Ken, the biggest headache I think will be getting permission from Parks & Rec to give permission to get them. Also, because of their location will also need Parks & Rec permission to get through the access gates. These things are too heavy to pack out. You might be able to get them out on pieces with an ATV, but lifting them into some type of trailer will take some work.
