1969 is about right. I recall when URTX scrapped, donated or otherwise disposed of their fleet they still had wood sheathed cars available in the early 70s. Thanks to the railroad museum movement many of these cars were saved for cheap and portable storage often donated by one of the leasing companies. Randy
I've come across a few pictures online of old wood reefers right around 1967-70 mark. Most were in company dedicated ice service.
Some small lines mid 1970's from my area in Southern California it was late 60's but nothing past 72' it seems from the photos ive seen.
