FWIW, if cold and rainy at Glenwood Springs (elev. 5761'), the weather at Steamboat Springs (elev. 6732')
or Winter Park (elev. 9121') might be snow. That mountain weather is crazy and variable depending on elevation.

I would think that there is over night lodging a at Winter Park. I have spent a week skiing at Steam Boat Springs and did not sleep in a snow bank. Perhaps she will check in and change before hitting the slopes.

Boarding at a known ski resort, in what may be rain, I would believe she is going home.

She is also in the photo in post #2049. I think she dropped her bags off with the porter and is taking her skis up to the baggage car. Glenwood Springs is not exactly a hopping ski resort. There is one small day ski area up in the mountains south of there called "Sunlight". The big ski resorts along this rail line are at Steamboat and Winter Park. Maybe she is heading west to Salt Lake City are to go skiing there.
