Foth, I suppose you refrained from telling her that the cloud formations are speaking to you. Although your fluffy cloud suit may have given you away.
There! There it is! Photographic proof of the existence of CLOUD PEOPLE! Wait until I show this to my wife and those two guys with the clipboards and white coats she invited to our house yesterday!
All this time I thought " Shootin' Up " had to do with drugs , guns , or being on the bottom . Now I have to add a new one . If I were an Indian Chief I would nick name you " See Up Your Nose "
cloud pics I was staring at these for quite awhile the other day. good luck. they are harder to paint then they look. glenn
Charlie- A year in school is ok as long as the residency doesn't have to be completed in a barber shop. The cloud people thing is not really good. One would never know when it was really raining. Glenn- Those are the types of shots I have been taking, but without the panorama. I know it is going to be hard. I will do my best and I am sure there will more Lessons Learned therefrom.
Every time i read one of your threads i get big laugh. Thats one of the tings i like about this board is that not only do you get great info but also you have a good reading and laughing at what people say. Alan:teeth::teeth:
One out of four people in this country is mentally unbalanced. Think of your three closest friends...if they seem OK, YOU are the ONE!
Mystere- If you ever heard what really goes on in my head, it would scare the heck out of you. As to Devil's Tower, how big is the rip rap? Wiking- Thank you. I try. Richie- I have to wear noseplugs. There are a lot of birds in Seaford.
Just a few bags of peas I stuck into the mashed potatoes around the base. (I don't actually have Devils tower on my layout )
You could always try something like this: I am certifiably deranged. But my wife calls me out for shots like this.
For a minute I thought you may have been out getting Moon Shots. With the recent Lunar Eclipse I've seen several nice pictures of the Moon. With the right gear, you may be able to find the Man in the Moon.
Cloud watching... ...is a very good thing I have found. I have a directory on my 'puter labeled, what else- Clouds. My wife loves clouds too. A good cloud show is a wonder to experience. The things is, as they change, you might(?) realize, you'll never see the same cloud again. They are like watching a thing called time. It's always passing but it's never a moment you can get back. All the things I've seen in the clouds- Wow! As far as model railroading, I'm going for blue skies and haze in the distance. I couldn't bear the angst of seeing a cloud hang motionless on my horizon knowing it would want to be in a place far better then where it was a moment ago. Mark
Look at the next to last cloud . If somebody did this on a layout I would ask wheres the boat . www.met.reading.ac.uk/.../cloudtypes.html
Richie- Thank you. Nice shots. Pete- I ain't going back to Pearl Paints for shades of pink. I will stick to good old Eastern seabord clouds. Lark and Brokemote- It is nice to see the other, non curmudgeony side to us.
Fotheringill, Your wife only THINKS you're deranged. You've obviously missed many, many opportunities to PROVE it beyond a shadow of a doubt...there's still hope for you. As for the rest of us.... Jim
What interesting discussion! Photographing the sky, cloud people. Liked the shot about the "cheese slipped of the cracker". I guess we all do strange things in our modelling pursuits. One of mine was scraping some rust of an old freight car as a sample. The wife still gives me a hard time about that one. Her quote is "agonising over the color of rust". Tracking abandoned railroad grades is written off as "chasing dead train lines". Never mind, we can all enjoy a laugh. Gary
