Sorry, the above are the things I like about N The reason I went into N was because Matt wanted to do a small switching layout in his bedroom, and started to get a few items, also a friend started a layout in N, then another friend did the same, so I thought I was getting left out and decided to sell my HO Belgian exhibition layout and build a home layout in American N scale. I have NEVER regretted that decision Matt then abandoned the idea of a switching layout, and runs on mine! ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery Alan's European Gallery Alan's British Steam Gallery

The Date:Christmas 1969. Location: Lincoln, Il. My First real Train-set, a Bachmann N-scale "Foam" Layout. By the end of 1970, it was collecting dust because it ran so BAD! Next step: HO. Jump ahead 22 years. The Date: March 1992. Location: Baton Rouge, La. Having just moved there with my now-Ex., I was setting HO track on the floor of the extra Bedroom in our Apartment to get an idea of what I could do in that given space in HO. I received the "NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!" look. I ran into the HO club and didn't like the "cold" welcome I received from them either. I was in a Hobby Shop and they asked if I had seen the N-Trak Layout in the other room. Not having any "fond memories" of N, I reluctantly went to see it and was pleasently suprised. A friend had given me some N scale trains as a going away gift from Illinois and I hadn't even run them yet. The guys in the N-Trak club said I could bring them anytime I wanted to run. As Danimal said, "The Hook was set!" I joined the club a few weeks later, sold off almost all of my HO and turned it into N. I have since moved back to Illinois and I'm serving a term as President of my Current N-Trak club, N-Trak of Bloomington-Normal, Il., a great bunch of N-Scalers! I like trains of ALL scales, but have found that N-Scale is the best for me! The First real N-Scale layouts that caught my eye was the Model Railroader Magizine project layout, "BN-Praire Chicken Division" and the Reed Brothers, "Pennsy-Western Maryland". I was deeply into HO when the "Clinchfield" was featured so I really didn't pay much attention to it. Now I wish I had. ------------------ RAILROADING-TO-THE-MAX, Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Style! The August 1995 issue of Model Railroader had an n-scale layout that caught my eye. It was the Iowa Interstate built by Mark Watson. I bet I have read that article 500 times. I had been out of trains for a while, but the first time I read that layout article, I went right back into the hobby.

quote:
Originally posted by Patrick: Matt sounds like a very quick lad!

lad...... im 22 im an old man now but things did kind of baloon i started out with a very small layout to fit on my window sill that i could run at anytime without having to set up my HO layout (which took about 3 hours and a bad back) i was going to just have 1 GP9 and 8 cars, now i have rather a lot more than that, but HO is still my thing so there! ------------------ wheres all the C636's???? stickymonk.com Matts Photo gallery
Hi There, June 17th/2000. I got into N Scale back in l969 or so We Didn't have much Back Then. Then it was MiniTrix, then others came on line SLOWLY. Its been a LONG TIME, Still have a lot of Original cars from R.R., Con Cor, Atlas, plus KD. Still have quite a bit from the New Players like M.T. M.D.C. Atlas (New) InterMountain, Deluxe, Red Caboose, plus as few others as well. Haven't Regretted the Decision one Bit, Like the oNeTrack, BendTrack, as well as the Ntrack Concepts as well. Diesels & Steam Engines have come a long ways as well. Best Decisions I ever made. ------------------ Best Regards, Andrew, Calgay
The reason that I cose N-scale was because I used to have an o scale and I used to get so fed up with it, then I thought why dont I change to a different scale so I did and changed to N scale.
I picked N scale because I finished my o scale and wanted something different to do so I switched to N scale .
