I do not recall seeing any of the White Western Fruit Express Mechanical Reefer's for several years, are they still out there or were they repainted long ago?

Where I was living, back in the early 1990's, we saw them all the time. Then they pulled up that branch line. Afterwards, I did not pay much attention. Good question!

I suspect they got repainted. There are lots of much newer paint green ones (and the icky brown ones).

I used to see them in french fry service out of Moses Lake.

    Kurt-

I spent most of my first fifty years in that corner of the county. Know it well. Remember the NP days, Casey Jones, etc.

That Darigold did a good business. Used a lot of those white reefers. Thought I had a few views of them. But looks like I don't. Rats!

    :(

Well I saw some of these white refer's today at the WFE building in Spokane, so I guess there are still some around. And all of this talk about the Issaquah line reminded me that I used to live near part of that line for a good 18 years but I was out towoards Woodinville and Bothell, but they tore up the Bothell portion when I was a we lad so I do not remember much of that part.

Ya' wouldn't recognize it now! [IMG] It's all grown up out there! The old NP "Y" is out there still. The Spirit of Washington dinner train has to navigate it every night, going to the winery. [IMG]

    Kevin-

I grew up, and lived by the branch for 33+ years. Saw how busy it was in NP days. The Casey Jones steamers. The BN decline....
