Any TBoarm Admin. may answer this..What happened to the TBoard when I get to 'search results' pages after going to 'Model railroading Forums' via web-search ? I.E. It used to be on either page one or two. Now it's vanished..I now have get to you via your 'address' .. Sorry If I missed some announcement pertaining to this..
Please Explain Not certain what you are talking about... :tb-wacky: :tb-wacky: :tb-wacky: :tb-wacky:
If I plug 'Model railroading Forums' into Google, this comes up in the middle of the first page. Easy to navigate from there. Model Railroading Forums - TrainBoard.com
That's the search engine, not Trainboard. They have no control over that, unless they pay handsomely to get in the "sponsored links" or whatever. Typing trainboard.com is faster than typing model railroading forums, isn't it? The fastest way to get here is to bookmark it. If you use AOL, click the red heart on the upper right and "Add to Favorites" In Internet Explorer, add to the favorites list by clicking "add," or even simpler, hit the CTRL and D keys simultaneously. Perhaps the webmaster can add a button at the bottom, where there are currently seven, to make Trainboard your home page?
Yeah,I figured it's somthing on my end..I only have Yahoo at library. so I can't perform many functions. Still, it's just odd that Tb is not on the web search 'MRR forums' pages as it always was..But I'll look again..Once atrain, tanks for all your kelp, Mark
Set yourself up a iGoogle account and then setup a "Wiget" for Bookmarks. It's a great tool that let's you have bookmarks (plus a ton more) that can travel with you from computer to computer. I use this even at work since I don't always have access to the same PC when I go out to the internet and this way I always have my bookmarks with me. :tb-nerd: :tb-nerd: :tb-nerd: :tb-nerd:
When I travel and use the computers in hotel lobbies or in relatives or friends homes, I always just type in <Trainboard.com>. I usually don't surf around much unless looking for a map or directions. Some day I may get a notebook or laptop but so far I am still plugging away with 10+ year old computers and operating systems. I guess I am hung up on classics. When I visit Flash, he won't let me use my own screen name so I have to pretend that I am he. So, if you ever notice anything squirrelly coming from him, it is probably me.
A quick update to my own post: I found the Trainboard by originally doing a Yahoo web search under 'Model railroading Forums' . This would take me to page 1 and a few forums down, there it was. It changed to page 2 for a while and kind of oscillated around but was always findable in there.. These days it's completely gone from those pages..I'd think it would be adventagious to have it BACK in there for newbees (as I once was, too) to discover it, too..I.E. by merely surfing around 'MRR forums' as I had once, and was so glad I had..I fully realize there are a number of ways to log on to TB once established..I'm refering here to those who might just 'happen upon it' the way I had ..It not being there, they might never know....No?
Hmmm, I just googled "model railroading forums" and we show up fourth from the top on the first page. :tb-confused:
fitz, I was just thinking someone would say that !!.. I guess TB is on Google now and no longer on Yahoo (where I found it )..Well, as long as it's there that's good. But I can't comprehend why it would not be listed in Yahoo any more..If you do, no need to explain if too complicated..Maybe these little posts will get her back in anyway...
