Does anyone know of a place on the web were I can get (download) drawings for locomotives and rolling stock? I have been collecting drawings out of magazines for years now and figured that someone must have a site loaded with this info. I found Paint shop, but those drawings aren’t too detailed (only one view). If one doesn’t exist, this would be a great idea for a new site.
Hi Mark maybe this will lead you to what you are looking for: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=locomotive+and+rolling+stock+drawings
Hey Mark, I know how you feel!! I've been looking for railroad structure drawings with the dimensions on them so I could scale them down and scratch build them. I have found some drawings but no dimensions.Hope you have better luck!!!
What I’m looking for is a site that has drawings like those found in Model Railroader or Railroad Model Craftsman. I have been collecting drawings out of these magazines for years and have them stored in a three ring binder. I guess there isn’t a site like what I’m looking for just yet. I know I could easily scan the drawings I have and post them to a site like this one. However, I’m not sure that is complete legal as the most of the drawings are copyrighted. Oh well, guess we will have to wait. Wouldn’t it be cool if someone would make a site that was like those books Model Railroading put out for modeling and detailing diesels? You know, the books where they take a picture of a locomotive and show you where and how all the details are added.
Youo got it exactly...The reason such a site does not exist is because scanning and posting copyrighted material is completely illegal..if it is in a magazine, no Posting or scanning what so ever. If the companies allowed this, people would post them and share them...and we can't allow such socialism.
