Hello im new here, i live in Auburn Ca,my home is close to Bloomer Cut on track 1 of UPs Roseville sub,for a few weeks now the UP trains have been running eastbound on track 1,and westbound on track 2. is this an experiment? at first i thought they were running in both directions on track 1,until i saw the westbounds running on the 2 track.
it could be some work on one of the mains causing traffic to look a little different. Give the maintenance "in the" way guys a chance to get some work done. Sounds like an excuse for a railfanning trip!
could be, but this section from east of Newcastle to Bowman is fairly short,and i havent noticed any track work going on..it IS possible i just havent seen them working while i was in the area. as far as railfanning,i can watch the trains passing on track 1 from the comfort of my desk chair and warm RV...
