Joe, I masked that square and shot it with glosscote, then laid the decal down after it dried. Once it is all dry I would overcoat it with Dullcoat. Now I took a brand new blade and just "traced" the laser cut boards with the knife. In some spots it will tear a bit. To tell the truth I cut it while the decal was still wet and it tore more than I liked. I patched it up a bit, waited for it to dry, dullcoated and finished cutting. About the factory building. The rub for me would be I really want it, but don't have a place on the Z layout for it. I just think the proportions are perfect with many interesting shapes and roof levels. Plus all those windows! and it would lend well to laser cutting. And it is special to me since I print newspapers (Lithographers) I dunno it was just a thought. If you make it I will have to buy one : ) Mine doesn't have a back, but it does have sides: http://picasaweb.google.com/ErieChris333/NScale/photo#5076371714586879650 http://picasaweb.google.com/ErieChris333/NScale/photo#5076403673438529218 http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showphoto.php/photo/7013/ppuser/3174
Thanks Chris, I never thought of that. I already put mine on and after it was on I rubbed a touch of alcohol on it to dull it. I'll have to experiment with your methods.
Looking nice Joe! Was it hard to build? I know some kits have given you grief in the past, and I tried to make everything fit well so nobody has any issues, but this is a bit tougher kit. I just wanted it to look real beat up and old from the start. Don't worry about the decal, go ahead and experiment with it. If something happens, I will send you a free replacement, and that always goes for anyone who ruins any part or decal.
Robert it really was not difficult to build at all. It took about 4 hours from start to finish. The big difference is the trim in this kit is stronger and it longer lengths. That peel and stick is the way to go! I did not break a single trim section. As you mentioned too, everything is a perfect fit. So there is no overlapping to mess with. I have to say it is really a simple big kit. If that makes sense. I like these a lot!
Yes you can, if the whole model is broken, but the decal is good, I will send you the rest of the parts!
Well as one person previously said ''It depends on what the definition of 'is' is.'' I'll get a cracking to work up a definition of "broken"...... ...don
All I need Don, is you you to fill out the questionair included in your kit, along with the serial number, DOB and your SSN, and we can get your claim processed. If you include your bank's routing number, balances will painlessly be automaticly transfered.
This is what i have spent the evenings the last days on: This is a great kit! It is a future MTL release, i think Robert made it? Now all i need is a bunch of details on it! BTW: check out my track's
Track work is looking good! How much do you have done? I saw that station on MT's website and figured it would be a future release.
Nice Henrik, it seems like you have done a god job putting this station kit together. It's the one you got when you was at my please isn't it? If I remember corectly you did not have any building plans for it neither, or did you?
SP Station Henrick, That does look a little bit familiar. Hmmmm........... Someone has been good to you.... Chris
Wow Henrik! That station came out real sweet! There were no instructions for it, and I am still working on those instructions. I am glad you were able to figure it all out. That's amazing! Love that handlaid track too!
Here's what's on my workbench right now. They aren't electric but I think they are cool. Cheers, Jim CCRR
Geez, Is there ever going to a day when I can post a photo correctly on Trainboard??????????????????Cheers, Jim CCRR
