My vote goes for the SP Lark. I think they've already got tooling for some of the cars, and they've already produced locomotives for it as well.

The Empire Builder or North Coast Limited would be nice to see.

I think Kato may continue with versions of the FEF and passenger trains to match.

I thought it was the Milwaukee Road Olympian Hiawatha, or something like that. It was supposedly the worst kept secret in N scale.

I agree with Roger. If KATO is as astute, as I think they are, they will milk the FEF craze for all it is worth. Nothing wrong with that at all. Make it while you can.

The way I look at it now, more smoothside cars will hit the market, I may just be able to get enough of them to do a North coast limited. I've got the Empire builder, now I just need the other. Then just for fun I'll see if I can do the rest of the SP&S LW cars.

With those two GN F units I ordered from Mr. Fifer, my SD45's can go back to freight service.

I agree with you Carl. Kato took advantage of the SP GS-4 "Daylight" with many releases of the GS-4.:cool: Besides #4449 they also released #4450, #4453 and in the GS-4 Black #4438 & #4441.

Their 4-8-4 mechanism could be easily adapted to a number of FEF's on other roads. Especially that centipede tender. NYC, GN, CBQ, SPS, NP, MILW, the list goes on. If only their heart was in variety....

What's the largest, most popular railroad after Amtrak, CB&Q (et al), PRR, SP, SF, and UP?

Oh my gosh, could it be NYC? I have no idea, but I might put my money on that one.

    Cheers,

I could see myself with a SP/RI Golden State Limited or a SP Sunset Limited.

Honestly, what is left on the west coast to do? Northern Pacific? I would assume it to be an eastern road, or a midwestern road.

I would like the Southern Crescent, but that is as likely as achieving Warp drive for space travel

The General! Powered by either a K4s or a T1. Can't think of anything else I'd rather have. I know it'll never happen because they already did the Broadway, but a guy can hope, right?

My heart is with a North Coast Limited... but... it has to be done correctly. NOT one of those 'sort-of-close' recently done sets (Alaska, CNW, IC). There are a couple other good ones... already mentioned Golden State and Sunset Limited. BUT... I am really surprised that a Missouri Pacific Colorado Eagle with PA units has not been offered. With all of the passenger cars Kato has put out over the last 10 years... I would think any of the above mentioned sets would require relative little tooling of new passenger cars.

For those who long for an 'ICONIC' eastern passenger consist... such as the Twentieth Century Limited... that would require a Dreyfuss Hudson (4-6-4) I think the comment made upon the announcement of the FEF... that Kato would not be working on another steam engine for a long time probably puts the 'Kabosh' on that. So that kills Little Joe powered Olympian or Otto Kuhler styled shovel-nosed Hudsons.

So... that leaves Kato doing multiple runs of FEF units with various liveries of Union Pacific passenger sets.
Perhaps there is a chance... since I don't now how close the FEF's 4-8-4 drivers are to that of an NYC Niagara... a Twentieth Century Limited could be run with a 4-8-4 streamlined Niagara.
