"Sumner" Thanks for bringing up the vapor filter. I found them on AMAZON. I have had complaints from the next apartment. Hopefully it will help with that and allergies. (y)

I've used it more the last couple days and really like it. It is smaller than what I pictured in my mind so doesn't take up as much space on the workbench as I thought it might and is easy to slide around. Wish I would of gotten it years ago.

It did come with an extra filter so it will be interesting to see how long one lasts. Problem is I don't have a good sense of smell so if the smoke wasn't going right into my nose I wasn't that aware of it. You would of wanted me in the next apartment as I wouldn't of ever known you were soldering anything :).

I see they have extra filters really reasonable so maybe if I ever move to the second one that came with it I'll order those.

I didn't see any efficiency rating for the solder fume filter (how good it is at actually removing, rather than recirculating/spreading out, the soldering fumes/droplets/particles.)

In fairness, I didn't see such ratings for other soldering fume filters either. The relatively low costs make me wonder how good some of them really are...

But the discussions in woodworking forums over the effectiveness of dust collector filtration are full of information (dis- or not) on the subject. Any filter will help some, but how much is enough, effective, etc.?

I have no idea but at least the concentrated fumes aren't going up into my face. I'm also in a fairly large area (27'x41' with 10' and 12' ceilings) so lots of air volume and at 79 I'm not going to live forever ;):(. I'd be more concerned if I was at a soldering station everyday. Pity anyone who is.

At that price it's worth a try. I'm going on 74 so I'm the same.

Last week I posted up 4 limited run BN ACF covered hoppers from PWRS-micro trains and to add to those I got this new release from MT as well.

Some Amtrak locomotives. The P42 was originally due in September of 2021. That's unusual for Kato.

It was mentioned in another thread about Penn Central cars and I got to thinking that is one road (and the Guilford) I didn't yet have in my collection. My first train set had a PC car which has special meaning to me so I searched around and found 3 nicely weathered cars. Also catching up with a few BNSF/Sante Fe hoppers, some ADM airslides and ESM metal wheels to update everything.

A dirty lot of rolling stock:)

Thank you, VinceP !!! I found if I go through a couple of mazes I can also make Ford LNT cabs to pull them. Atlas makes the cabs with correct paint schemes. Had to order decals from PWRS. Checking LHS in AM for cabs.

This is all due to some licensing BS. Guess it makes sense to somebody, but not me. I HATE rules !!!:mad::mad:
