Newly arrived, finally! For those that have NOT seen them yet....... Walthers/LifeLike DRGW SW-1200's Yes, printing on rear CAN be read! Says Keep off footboards.
Have not noticed. Really haven't looked them over real close! I suspect it's possible. Might explain why couplers are slightly off! Will find out more shortly. Have DCC decoders ordered for them. I'll discover more inside, when it's time to convert! MIGHT have correct reading glasses my then! Still have issues with close up viewing.
Glad Walthers finally did these units... I have a couple of MoPac units which were going to be changed to DRGW... thought it would be easy to do... just removed the MoPac lettering and use Microscale decals. Not as easy as it sounds. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
Here is my recently purchased Montgomery Ward expanded styrene bead Treble-O-Lectric layout I mentioned in an earlier post. Wards sold them for only two years, 1963 and 1964. Doug
Ah, yes. The gateway "drug" for a number of N scalers. We've come a long long way but I still treasure my Lone Star Lectric 000.
I was able to score a couple Digitrax power supplies, but my DB150 just wont put out track power. The DCS100 works fine. We went ahead and dove into Best Buy for our first TV purchase since 2000. Both 4K, a 50" for the living room and a 43" plus wall mount for the garage. We also replaced the router with a 3 band AC version as our 3 year old unit was struggling.
Five GN Empire Builder cars -- three ConCor and two Kato. I have nine now to go with Broadway Limited F3s I reserved at my LHS.
I continued my acquisition of motive power. A couple of Challengers and a Big Boy... Some SD9 and GP7 Some SW9/1200 An RS-1
I needed some styrene strip, and since I was placing the order... Parts is parts by Rocket Jones posted Apr 9, 2018 at 5:07 PM
That's a fine sight Doug. I lingered on the photo and I can't help but smile. It seems to be in splendid shape and I know you'll enjoy it. I have a few of those trees, bought in the mid-to-late '60s from a Chicago drug-store chain that stocked Treble-O trains.
Thanks. It is in nice shape considering it was undoubtedly owned by another kid like me so long ago. I did a bit of touch-up on spots missing some paint. Very minor, relatively speaking. And it arrived here in Minnesota all the way from Oregon in perfect order. The UPS store there did a wonderful job packing it to avoid damage. I was so worried it was going to be broken in two by the time it got here. Yeah, the Lone Star trees. They were part of all the different series of trains from the late fifties through the seventies. I have obtained several through different purchases and the top two foliage layers are often missing. Actually witnessing Treble-O-Lectric trains run is akin to seeing Lionel or American Flyer trains. They may not be the last word in scale fidelity or detail but it is magical. Doug
To keep my Lone Star locomotives running, I found I can get plenty of the correct size rubber bands for the drive system in the hair care department at the local drug store.
