I am now ready to install my individual block switches for my layout but need to know what amperage I need. I plan on using micro toggle switches DPDT (on-off-on). For reference.. I am using 2 MRC control master 20's - 20 gauge feeders to the track and 14 gauge bus wires.
I am wiring for two man operation.
    Any suggestions ?

An N scale loco runniing on DC generally pulls no more than 0.1 Amp. (I'm not sure about HO, but I would guess less than 0.2 Amp). Even submini toggle switches are rated at 3 Amps, so you should be fine with whatever you use.

If you contemplate going to DCC, a 5 amp rating might be a good idea, however.

Most of the toggle switches I have are rated 120V/5 amp. More than ample to handle model trains.

HO locomotives may draw up to 1.5 amps with a locked rotor and inefficient motor.

The bigger question is how much current your power sullply can put out. Most supplies run out of gas at a few amps. DCC systems CAN put out as much as 8 amps. The typical 5 amp switches are more than enough for anything we're likely to do.

P.S. That switch rating is a continuous duty. The demand rating (surge) is MUCH higher.
