What I've Been Up to Lately:Passenger Station Diorama

Next came the Amish Blue

 

Then the Light Red Oxide

 

Followed by the Raw Sienna

 

Next, the Raw Umber

 

And finally the Burnt Umber





Then seal it.

 

I also began working on the foliage. Here are some progress shots near the abutment. I am using Woodland Scenics Tree kits, Clump Foliage, Fine Leaf Foliage, and Foliage.

I finished the foliage on the hillside. Now it is onto the area behind the station.

I continued my tree planting and foliage laying. This time I worked on the area along side the station. I still have more foliage to place in and around the trees.







Here is the next area to be worked on.

 

Looking great Tom. It's amazing how the addition of trees makes an instant difference.

Have you tried using WS 'foliage' yet. I think you'd like it.

Yes I am using WS foliage, clump foliage, and fine leaf foliage. In a few days I should have some shots showing them. Almost forgot I am trying WS colored foliage.

I am beginning to work on the highway bridge. It is a kit made by Rixx.



Here are all the parts laid out.



I have begun to assemble the pier. Here is the foundation. I am planning on painting the pier after it is assembled. The parts didn’t want to stay on the spurs so I figured to go this way with it.

 

I am continuing to assemble the pier for the highway bridge.

Back to the diorama itself.

I have pretty much finished the foliage. I add foliage, fine leaf foliage, and clump foliage to the trees along the side of the station.

Now here are some photos of my trying to figure out how the bridges will look and what I need to do.









Some things I discovered from this is that I am going to need to do a cap for the abutment. Also I can’t paint the highway bridge pier until I have the abutment finished because I will have to adjust it’s height.
