Hello all! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jerry DeBene. I am a Locomotive Engineer with the Ohio Central Railroad. I have been with this company for 5yrs now, and before that I worked for the Indiana & Ohio Railroad, were I was an Engineer instructor for several years. With the purchase of my first digital camera, my love of photography, and railroading, I thought it would be fun to present classes on what is what on a locomotive. Once we start, you will learn the different systems of a locomotive, and how they are used, and why. Nothing technical, just a fun, basic understanding of locomotives. I was also an operating member of NKP 765 between 1990 and 1995, and now am a part of the Ohio Centrals steam program, so we are going to get a dose of how a steam locomotive works too. I will try and do them on a regular basis, but working for a real railroad is very demanding, and time at home is minimal sometimes. But I'll do my best. Most important, were going to have fun! And, you just might learn one or two new things. Through photos, you'll join me in the cab....... And maybe, learn what all these buttons and levers are for.......... Or, depending on your preference, what these valves and levers do! And that, is what this site will be all about. Enrollment sheet is on the table to your left. Get ready for some fun! this sounds cool. Are there going to be classes on American systems of Safeworking including alook at signal aspects?? I have a basic understanding of NORAC but there seem to be alot more combinations than over here in Aus and it confuses me I might wait until after next week as I have a refresher class coming up ( I hate Petersham) and I don't want to be thinking Red over green when I should be thinking 2 yellow Copyright 2008 Jerry DeBene
