I am upgrading and detailing my cars and want to add new brake wheels but have been unable to find out which brake wheels were used and when. I found info on the web some time ago by Kadee or something related but have not been able to come up with anything lately. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Please provide us w/ more info on what RRs, car types, era, etc. you are modeling. This type of info will give responders a better idea of how to help you given that RRs have been here over 150 years!
Types I am modeling. I am modeling SP, UP, ATSF among others. Steam era until present. Mostly late steam 40's to early 50's. 40 & 50 foot boxcars, 40' flatcars, tanks among others. I am super detailing the cars. Replacing the stirrups, roofwalks, brake wheels, etc...
Suggest you join the "bbfcl" & "STMFC" Yahoo Groups then look thru their files & photos. Your can also do searches on more specific questions you have on want detail parts you're going to need. Also get catalogs for CalScale, Detail Associates, Details West to name just a few. Also get a Walthers catalog & look at Parts. You've got alot of research to do!
