The Winter of 2000/2001 was unexpectedly harsh in Southern Ontario. First time I can recall, as long as I have lived in the area around St Thomas, an actual Plow extra was run.

The CP Roster lists it as a GMD GP7u. I bet that thing has quite a history.

1508 is ex-8423, blt 03/53, bn A510, rebuilt 11/82 at Ogden Shops, Calgary, as part of CP's 10-year remanufacturing program commenced in 1980.
Work included a complete rewiring, updating of the electrical systems and upgrading the cab to SD40-2 specs, complete mechanical overhauls, updating engines from 567B to 567BC standard (where fitted), and the short hood chopped.

    Gary.
