    Taken just a few hours ago in Columbia, SC, NS Heritage Unit 8105 in Interstate paint is trailing on Train 191. Bought by the SOU in 1960, the Interstate was a coal hauler operating in southwest Virginia.

    Yes. I heard that when they started running a similar system in Vancouver, BC, that they had to put mannequin in a temporary cab so that people would ride.

    I worked on construction of the Docklands Light Railway in London, mid 80s.
    We didn’t believe it would be driverless- but it was. I think they did (still do? Surely not) put a conductor/ticket seller on each one to reassure people at the start.

    It’s still operating, on a greatly extended route.
