Well, we're moved, the lemons made some good lemonade, but the computer and camera are both still sidelined, hopefully the high temps didn't keep everyone indoors.

An SD40-2 working the yard in Teague, Texas on Wednesday. Where is the BBQ grill on the back porch? Missing an opportunity there.

Note the hand painted numbers. Someone must have been in a hurry to get this unit back out into service?

CP 9250, a Budd RDC-4 built in 1956, served CPR until 1978 when it was transferred to VIA:

I still remember when those things rattled up the line to Mont-Laurier, sometimes in tandem, going through my home town, back in the 70s. Since then the tracks have been pulled up from Saint-Jerome up to the end at Mont-Laurier. Now it's a "linear park", fancy terminology for a bike path. The Laurentians up past Saint-Jerome were beautiful scenery and would be perfect for excursion trips. But... someone wanted the scrap value of the rails more than the nice scenery...

BNSF power for the West Colton-Barstow manifest at UP's West Colton yard.

But notice that directly above it is a new twist on UP hauler poweer in the LA basin: gensets MUed with SD70Ms. Also, the Pepper Avenue bridge over the I-10 is being replaced, so I have some question on how much longer railfans will get this view.

I wonder if there will ever come a day when there is commuter type service between Astoria and Portland?

I am surprised. Twenty one years later, the truck is still BN green.

Whopper of a crack in your windshield! Something really whacked it!

Still a few more BN green stuff around here....and the crack is courtesy of Mt D.O.T. "sanding" the roads in winter! You know, pea gravel works just fine! Saw this lost old gal last week too. I don't know who CCET is, but at least it is still purty Blue!

Yeah. The pea gravel treatment. They get it el cheapo, spread it and pretend that BBs on the road are a good substitute for traction sand. Body shops love winter for all the windshield and paint repairs come springtime! Personally I believe MT govt is in cahoots with the body shops.

That's an ex-MRL SD45-2. Cincinnati East Terminal RY.

Because of the primer paint use? Or another reason?

I don't know the story behind all the fixes and primer but the trucks seem to really stand out. I see a lot of pictures of this GP38-2.

Thankfully just about 3 miles from our old place. Further from the tracks and the trainclub, but 2 blocks from one of the best grade schools in the district. My landlord declined to renew and is in a rush to sell.
