    Happy Slurpee day everyone.
Not sure if I've shared an image from this set previously.

Caught last Sunday in Columbia, SC was NS's IT Heritage Unit 1072. The HUs are all getting quite dirty. They're treated no differently than any other units it seems.

Trying to inject some variety into these posts, I spent some time searching my archives for something that wasn't a Pere Marquette Berkshire and came up with this. The Saginaw Valley Railway, which more or less sleeps in the same bed as the Huron and Eastern, had two of these little gems, numbered 998 and 999. The last time I saw 998, it was sitting at Wenona yard in Bay city with the hood removed. This one was assigned to the elevator at Marlette when I caught it in the summer of 2008.

Was a dark cloudy day on Tuesday when I found some KCS power on a UP train outside of Hearne waiting for the crew change van.

You mean one of those much needed pipelines that the NIMBY's are protesting...….

Speaking of pipe. Here are a couple of carloads departing NS's Norris Yard in Birmingham AL - Feb. 2005
