The rails from top of the hill, south of town, into Polson, were removed years ago so Highway 93 could be widened. The branch itself has been unused for many years now. The major customer was a mill at Dunham, which closed. The line is NOT abandoned, as too many, (even "knowledgeable" foamers), reference the situation. It is classified as "out of service". Still completely owned by Montana Rail link.
