No picture from me again. Depending on the rain I may try to get out this weekend. Ugh, forgot to set the prefix
Went rail fanning in Tulsa area yesterday while here in Oklahoma for a train show in Oklahoma City this weekend.
Another week with no railfanning, so an older random shot is called for. From 12/21/2017 is CSX GE ES40DC No. 5288 dappled in sunlight and working a local in Columbia, SC. The train is on a former ACL branch.
I happened to look through a book yesterday with photos of Frisco steam power and was again reminded that the Frisco fielded a superb roster of fine looking machines. I didn't know that an example of one of their 4-8-4s survived. Thanks for posting this Russell!
Nice!! What's the story on the 2 trailing SD's? No paint on the long hoods? No number boards either, that's weird!
They caught my eye too and I can't figure it out either. I can see a portion of one number board that might show ?001, but it's hard to be sure. I'd guess they are lease units, but that'd be weird given that they were in NS paint. Great photo Curtis!
Guys these SD 60's were leased from NS to the Kanawha River, about 13 of them. A few years ago Watco bought allof them. They have been used in helper service on the Kanawha River Curtis
Anticipation.... The US Route 2/52 Bypass looms in the distance as the V-DILPTS1-30 illuminates the overpass and a set of intermediate signals in a blinding ice fog.
