I have been swamped at work again and so haven't even had a chance to think about trains model or otherwise...so this is a good opportunity to do so.
Kind of a sad and moody setting. These MAC's and about 20 more have been sitting cold and stored here for several years now. It is unusual to get a view of them from this side of the yard with no trains in the way.
Here is a sad old ex MoPac GP38-2. However, it was still working hard on a UP local in November of 2006.
Taken earlier this week at Simpson, SC is Monday-only baretable Train 24Q operating from the Port of Charleston to Elizabeth, NJ. On the point is a ubiquitous Dash 9, followed by Lackawanna Heritage Unit 1074 and GP-38-2 5243.
Today was a bust, railroad-wise. Both modeling and prototype. My local train store is going out of business and I was running too late to train-watch this morning. However... yesterday I was on the coast and walked out of lunch in Long Beach to hear a horn... since I was parked next to the tracks, I got a trio of CSX units barreling eastbound with a mixed freight. No stills, they were moving right along. First time trying to link YouTube from my phone, let’s see if this works. If not, I’ll post from my laptop in the morning. DPUs for a hot westbound intermodal, heavy with UPS, FedEx and other priority traffic charge west over Gassman Coulee Trestle west of Minot, ND:
At the Texas Transportation Museum in San Antonio. This Baldwin was acquired new by the Moscow, Camden & San Augustine Railroad to move fresh cut lumber in East Texas.
That Connie looks exactly like the model done by Athearn (formerly MDC/Roundhouse). Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
