To get the Proto Fun rolling this week, were pulling up the line with this Patriot Rail geep leading a northbound Georgia Northeastern train just south of Tate GA. This was my first time actually catching a GNRR train more than a mile or two away from their southern terminus at Elizabeth GA. I was a bit surprised at how hard these four units seemed to be working. Guess there is more of a grade there than it looked like. It did sound good though. Happy weekend everyone!

From 07/25/1975 on the MILW main at Elgin, IL, a very short "dinky" led by an F-40C operated by the Northwest Suburban Mass Transit District. Built in April 1974, the unit is just over a year old, one of 15 built.

As Ryan Aust mentioned this company earlier this week, that prompted me... Hard to believe this was about 35 years ago. Chehalis Western RR GP38-2 #817 idles just outside the old Milwaukee Tideflats Yard site:

The Glenduve yard and depot on Mar 9. The stack train has been sitting for two days, it finally went east on the tenth. It is on 4 Track. The coal load is on 3 Track waiting for a crew.

This view does some interesting things to that track.

It is not a very 'flat' yard. Lots of old ties and a very uneven surface. It is rough to walk in for the conductors also.

I've been here more than 50 years ago. Was a nice place, and seems is today, too.

It sure has changed a lot since then! But is still a nice place to live!

The #1 engine looks pretty ratty. Why the six engines, and at least three different roads?
