Your superb models are such a nice sight Randy -- beautiful, unique and of an awesome prototype. Thanks for sharing your progress.
The bright and colorful paint on some interurbans is much missed, seeing the usually sterile rolling stock of today.
Thanks guys, I agree they are kinda rare to see in N scale. I've been around these electrics since I was 11 years old at various railway museums so they will always have a place in my heart. Hopefully life will allow me to devote more time to model railroading in the near future. Randy
Finished a few HO scale projects over the last few weeks. First it this Protowest Scale Models resin D&RGW 01400 caboose kit, now this is not for the faint of heart, I would consider this a fairly complicated model to build, but I like the result. All the brake rigging is on it too. A lot of etched brass parts as well. I made a lighting kits for the markers and running lights, directional so the right end is lit when moving. Got a D&RGW GP40 3062 done this week too. I have had this caboose for a while it is a Gilbert models caboose shell, with all kinds of parts and under frame added to get it able to roll around the outfit. Now this is a caboose for you when you keep forgetting to bring a caboose to the op session. I milled flat spots all over the wheels treads so it really bangs its way around the MRR. Painted in the brightest colors I had at the time. The clowns were donated by friends to complete the car. As you might imagine people rarely forget to bring their own caboose nowadays Thanks for stopping by
Here are a few photos I took last Saturday at my club in Livingston, MT. One of the menbers does an excellent job on flatcar loads. Here's the car shop and fueling facility near the roundhouse.
