Rick, I may be way off base, but in the absence of better information, I'm going to guess that's a live poultry car. Nice looking mike, BTW.
My guess would be a see-through car to show how crates and boxes inside would react to improper loading. All the slamming around in the yards and normal slack action in transit.

The 12 Trains of Christmas. On the 12th, we had the Coca~Cola train, and the 11th was a pair of EMD GP30s dressed as D&RGW 3011 and 3010 on a caboose hop.

Well, judging from the car number, I used the decals in 2010. Can't remember how long I had them before that.
I still have my decals from that first adventure, somewhere. Saw them a few months ago. Can't find my photos right now, but I believe it was mid to late 2005 when the first TBX cars were done and circulated.
I'm busy again with the ESU sound. It's like an addiction. It is now the 20th locomotive that gets a sound conversion.
