This was one of my first steam locomotive kit bash projects. I used an Arnold Rapido USRA Pacific to which I added a Bachmann Northern tender. I shortened the tender and then attached Con Cor six wheel trucks to it.

Nothing done this week, took my new Wabash Bluebird over to the club for its first run.

The Bluebird was one of the first dome trains that were built after WWII, it ran in daily service from St. Louis to Chicago in the morning with an evening return. It was paired with the Banner Blue (a heavyweight equipped train) which went in the opposite direction. The Bluebird lasted through the lease of the Wabash by the N&W and was finally annuled with the coming of Amtrack.

    Thanks for looking!

Here is a loco that I bashed for my wife's "Smokey Bear" train. Buz Lenander sent me a photo of 5902 and I attempted to make a look alike. Even added fiber optic ditch lights. She liked it, hope you do too.

    Always have fun,
    Carl

Candy, great market. You always create such neat scenes. I wish I had your attention to minute details. The size of your veggies remind me of my Mother's "Victory Garden" during WW-II. Her veggies were Gee-Normous fed by horse manure from the farm next door. Of course you know who was her chief manure shovel operator...you got it, li'l ole 8-10 year old ME!

Just got back from the swap meet at the Northern Pacific depot in Livingston. The model railroad club there has quite an impressing layout. I plan on starting another thread in HO scale and post some photos of the layout they have there in the basement of the depot.

Met Alan from Glendive there. He stars in the video attached. The reason the totaly wrong NP unit is pulling the Empire Builder is because that is the clubs camera car which has the video playing on screens in the layout room.

And here's a little bit long video, which also has a little bit of Mr. Chet in it. We had a good time there today, lots of trains, fun and freindships, old and new! Yes, the club layout is HO, but there is also a large three rail set up and a G and an N! It's all trains, which is the point!

...and I'd assume those cabbages are all hand painted. Considering they're probably an eighth of an inch across .. geez.

Had a few guys over last week for an op session, Dale Angell, and his wife Karyn was here and he took video and pictures all day. Then he put a video together and posted it on his YouTube channel "Toyman Television" any way it was a nice surprise to see it done so well, interesting what gets noticed and comment on, when viewed from someone else's lense. Here is the video Dale made.

P.S. I think he was referring to 4000ft scale length trains lol.

Diseasel?. Good one, especially considering that at one time I refused to even acknowledge the existence of the beasts. (Real locomotives utilize external combustion, right?) Eventually, while never losing my fascination with steam, I warmed up to diesels, becoming fond of F units, old SW's and especially the BL2 with its-well, unique- appearance. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was a BL2 that pulled the first train I remember seeing as a very small boy. I even have fond memories of the GP35's and really grubby enchantment blue and crud Geep 7's I saw as a somewhat older kid. So, diseasel? Probably not, but still worth a good chuckle.
