Okay, I did manage to find free wifi out here "off the grid"today. However, I have no photos at this time. Please post some. I doubt I will be able to start anything for the next two weeks.

Conflicting signals, Russell. Is this photo fun or proto fun? Just want to post in the right place.

Says 'modeling, but claims to be "proto fun" so I pulled these out of the archives. These were taken a few years ago during the complete overhaul of PM 1225. When the work was completed, SRI announced that it would be about 30 years before more major repair of this type would be required.

Ooops, typo on my smart (?) phone. Or was it jet lag? I corrected it I think.

Good afternoon from partly cloudy and warm Northeast Ohio!

I managed to get some work done this week!

IMRC 40' PS1 Boxcar kit, substituted a 9' PS Door from the scrapbox for the 8' Door that came with the kit. Painted the car with Scalecoat II Reefer Yellow and lettered with decals from the AnnArbor Historical Society. The football is a layering of 3 decals, the brown football, yellow lettering and green lines. The car was originally ordered in the late fifties in yellow & black, and repainted in this scheme in 1963. Car was equiped with DF Loaders and used for hauling paper products.

Next is the 3rd Rock Island PS 4427CF Covered Hopper I have done, Proto 2000 Kit, painted with Scalecoat II MOW Gray Paint and lettered with Oddballs Decals. Also replaced the plastic roofwalk with the Plano Etched metal one. Car was in grain service replacing the wornout 40' boxcars originally used in grain service.

A set of Rivarossi U25C engines with a coal drag on the Strongsville Club layout.

Thanks to all who commented on my cars and pictures the last couple of weeks and kudos to all who have posted also especially Garry and Alan.

    Thanks for looking!

OK, Now that we've got that straight, hope I'm not taking over the thread, but here's a model shot from my old layout:

    1959-1.jpg

C&O BL2 1846, still fresh from a recent repaint leads a somewhat dirtier GP7 past Vulcan Forge and Machine in the late 50's.

Nice. Sad that 39 has departed, but looking forward to photos from the new layout.

Frisco/EMD GP/DD35's throttling up under a load and on a grade. Gonna look into adding DCC and sound to this EMD GP/DD demo set. The 35 line of 567 engines were over taxed at best, and supported by less than adequate electrical systems. These old locos all have updated hex drive components and run surprisingly quiet, that DD35 chassis is an old wide body Athearn milled to fit a couple RTR Athearn modified GP35 shells made into a DD35.

Coming along nicely. Should be an interesting and photogenic layout.

I removed the dup pic and added the one I intended to in the first place. I sometimes have difficulty finding images on my own computer.
    Thanks for stopping by.

So this Accurail hopper followed me home from a visit to TrainLife in Provo, Utah.
I love how easy these are to build.

This 20 minute weathering was done with Pan Pastels. Neutral Gray for fading, then black, dirt, and rust. Not finished, but looks better than the original! Do need to lower the coal load, though.

That really gives it some realism. Nice job on the weathering.
