*Please read all rules as they may have changed from previous weeks*
If you notice a typo, error, or confusing statement, please notify Mr. Train or Mystere immediately for correction and clarification.

Modeling Photo Challenge Topic: "Scratch Built/Kit Bashed/Highly Customized"

***We'll take anything that has been custom painted, highly weathered, hand laid, buildings, locos, rolling stock.. basically anything that is either not offered by a manufacturer, or that is highly altered from how the manufacturer ships it.*** :)

    1. All challenges close at 10pm Pacific Standard Time, and will be noted with a "Time's up!" post within the thread.
    2. Please use the challenge as a motive to take a new photograph rather than using a photograph that you have taken in the past.
    3. Challenges are open to everyone, have fun!!
    4. Though not required, commenting on other peoples pictures is encouraged.
    5. Only one image per participant so please choose the image carefully.
    6. Any posts with images taken before the commencement of the challenge will not be included in the poll.
    7. For photos to be eligible they must be taken between Friday June 26th and Monday June 29th.
    8. Ensure dates and times on your camera are correct.
    9. On June 29th, all entries will be put up for a public vote, in which all members of Trainboard may vote for their favorite entry(s), regardless of whether you submitted an entry or not. Voting will be unlimited multiple choice.

We look forward to seeing many contributors, remember this is to encourage all photographers to take a shot of the subject rather than post a photo taken in the past.

    Lets see some unique models!

That's ok. You can always take a new picture from a new angle. :)

If you could remove the image from the post that would help out. I don't want anyone getting confused whether it's an entry or not. And I hope you can get a new picture taken and entered. :)

    "The Unnamed Loco"

I caught this little thing shoving cars back and fourth in the local yard today. [IMG]

Mark, I'd gladly remove the image and post if I could only find out how to! I've looked all over and can't find any delete function on the post editing screen. How the heck is it done here?

If you plan to take a new picture for an entry, you can either replace the old image, or simply make a new post. [IMG]

Mark, I'm not really up on my diesels. Is this legit? I have a few things I could enter with, but I'm taking a week off! Cheers, Jim CCRR/Socalz44

    Everything AND the kitchen sink

First time entry and not even a train, but definitely kitbashed and/or scratchbuilt.
The commercial kitchen ready to be installed in my pier nightclub.
Figures were bashed into chefs. Scrap plastic, truck trailer detail parts, syringe parts and electronics surplus bashed into simulations of equipment seen at a kitchen supply store I visited. Triple sink scratched from cardstock.

You can edit the post and remove all the text. But the system will tell you the post has to have a min. number of text. So you just type "My mistake don't look here for a photo" or what ever you want.

I offer my entry: Allegheny sunset on Seneca Trestle

(The H-8 is weathered by myself using acrylic washes and a small brush. The trestle was scratchbuilt by me using stripwood and wood glue, and then stained using real creosote oil that my dad left me when he yielded the property to me a few years back. Even though it is dangerous, I couldn't part with the creosote!)

    Hello,
Here is a scratch-built church in Bangor on my layout. Hopefully not to late.

NYW&B, That was nice weathering on the image you deleted, can you post another?

    Thanks
    MCB

Nope, not too late. In fact there's still about 12 hours left, so if you haven't entered your scratchbuild/kitbash/custom paint/ect... What are you waiting for? [IMG]

Better late than never for me. I didn't think of entering a structure.

Here is my low nose GP9. LifeLike GP20 mechanism and nose; GP18 long hood. Various other details and weathering, too.

Well, if flash didn't enter a structure, then I guess I will. This is pretty much scratch built. Evergreen and Plastruct styrene, Grandt Line windows and doors, a few other styrene patterns from various manufacturers and some shutters from a Life Like kit for vents along the foundation.

    UP 'Drover'

This UP Drover had the baggage door on one side only. The UP made them from CA-1 cabooses. This was built from a Roco caboose

    Deletion accomplished.

Great entries folks! Mark, what IS that loco? It looks like a chopped Geep on a SW frame. Have you created a new class of loco?

    Thanks Adam.

We've decided to call it a LP50/2 (slash 2, not dash 2) meaning a "Light Purpose" 50 divided by 2 (Half).

More action of it here. [IMG]

MCB's Scratch-built church is narrowly holding off Kenneth L. Anthony's Kitchen and r_i_straw's scratch-built house and more following close behind.

Have you voted this week? It follows the holiday theme as its FREE.

    Happy 4th..er.uh.. Hawaii! [IMG]
