Looks like some outdated 48ft well cars have been shoved into the branch track behind the farm. Maybe an earlier era line can use them
Here is what I managed to complete this week! I have been adding to the fleet of coal hoppers recently and I had an old Athearn 34' Twin Bay hopper that I painted with Scalecoat II Black paint and lettered with Champ Decals. I also finished the Moloco PC&F RBL, Painted with Scalecoat II Reefer Yellow, Silver and Black Paint and lettered with Prime Mover Decals, The EL leased these RBL from North American which accounts for the NIRX reporting marks, but did have the EL logo on the cars. Last week I took my recently completed Ann Arbor RS-2 took to the club with a sand train. The Ann Arbor was contracted to move 20 cars of sand a day from the Yuma, MI sand pit to the Ford Engine Factory in Brook Park, OH. They would deliver the cars to the PC in Toledo who would take them to Brook Park, on occasion when both the PC and Conrail had engine shortages they would allow the Ann Arbor engines to run all the way to Brook Park. A shark is loose as B&O Sharknose RF16A and RF16B (Broadway Limited) roll through Leiperville Union Station as a Western Maryland freight also passes through.
They have a darn good looking warehouse! Perfect lighting angle to bring out the corrugated walls. The cows are saying moooove them! I like Sharks that know how to dress up to go out! Very handsome in B&O colors.
First catch-up job in my modeling plans for the weekend, Front Range boxcar kit TH&B 3320: I found a new way to add weight to any boxcar or reefer without glue: I literally screwed stove bolts into the foam block before placing that into the car. No glue needed. And the official portrait: Pulled by CN #1, one of the first two GE 44-tonners bought by CN for Prince Edward Island's Murray Harbor Sub, where bridge weight restrictions were a serious operational impediment. Next!!!
I know it's late. But I found an MDC/Roundhouse cupola which I fitted to an Athearn factory painted caboose. I know that I need to move the smoke jack to the other side of the roof, and remove the tool box underneath, but the cupola still gives it more of a Grande look....
