I got about 10 minutes worth of modeling done this weekend but it goes to show that you can fit some in anytime. Here is one of Bachmann's boxcars that was a bit too clumsy and clean for my liking: And here is the result of my 10 minutes work, including the installation of some MT wheelsets: Russ
SNFF 2 13 05 One good lashup: Really deserves another: So, we end another weekend and head off to work another week: Take care, all. Great posts, everyone, as always.
Alan, you could always get an undec cab and paint it mineral red with yellow lettering or the newer caboose red with white lettering. Both would be correct for the late WP. The Atlas model isn't prototype (if that matters to you).
I should also add that the MT cab isn't actually correct, but there is a prototype for the paint scheme. Also, only the bay windows were red and white, cabs like the Atlas version were mineral red. I really wish Atlas would do a bay window as nice as their extended vision. That's a NICE model!
Widened my mountain range and added a sub floor to accomidate a small main-street town Bought 2 sacrificial CNW 2-bay hoppers for the TB forum car. They're currently soaking in 91% Alcohol Also discovered that out TB member Grey_One is a tagger his work made it all the way to California!!! but it was a UP car, so no harm
Mike, Really looking forward tot he forum cars, we have been waiting quite a long time to kick this off.
I am waiting for a moisture trap to come in the mail, I won't be airbrushing any more until it comes.... Loco1999 [ 13. February 2005, 23:45: Message edited by: loco1999 ]
UPDATE 1:30pm PST: Both cars are stripped, and roofwalks are off - prepping for paint. Any happen to have 2 sheets of N scale decals for 2 x 2-bay hoppers that they're willing to donate to "the cause?" I won't be able to get to the LHS until next weekend...
Been working on a variety this weekend. This picture shows the most of it. Replaced 5 switches with ground throws. Added the gravel parking lot behind the trees. Added the tile platform between tracks in the rear. Also Billboard on Hotel roof and another in background. Another view of the parking area. Added several fences and signage. Made a storage tank from nasal aspirators. A little too modern for me, though.
Eagle2: The Idaho hotel is right in the center of San Marino, the only major town on the JJJ&E. It took about 20 hours to build this kit. Stay cool and run steam......
