No not me. That will come later...I said with a sheepish grin.

Just thought you might want to know. A FYI moment.
My website BarstowRick.com is no more. Gone, history, good bye!

For reasons that aren't clear to me BarstowRick.com has crashed and I'm not electing to pay, to bring it back. Files were corrupted somehow. Since they can't protect it better then that... well... I think you get my point.

Guys and Gals such as Rick B., Candy Streeter, DCC guy, and other cabable participants here on TB., can handle most of today's questions.
Besides who wants an old school termite espousing the benefits of all that OLD stuff.

To those who stopped in thanks for visiting.

The theme of the site is was as follows:
Go build yourself a layout and let it teach you what you need to know.
    A mission of self discovery.

My new signature: Remember, old model railroaders don't die we just move down the tracks to another destination.

NOW! Do me a favor and go enjoy the heck out of this hobby.

To the fine folks at TB. New Posts, this announcement hasn't showed up there yet.
    Am I missing something here?

If you look at a thread, it disappears from your new posts list until someone makes a post you haven't seen yet.

I found this thread on new posts. You didn't because you made those other two posts, therefore they weren't new to you.

Sorry the software ate your site.

Acptulsa, You said what? Sounds like me first thing in the morning. Ok, if you say so.
I hope other TB members can see it as I still don't see it, as in find it. I have to go to My Content and there it is.

Point353, You never know who or what is lurking out there and/or monitoring your activities.

BarstowRick.com is being held hostage until I can pay them to fix it. I don't think so. I'm done.
Which proves that everything in life is temporary.

Oh, before I forget. Thanks for the flowers Ah..ah...AHHHH-choo. Allergies.

New posts only shows you what you personally have not looked at yet.

Try it. Go to new posts, pick a thread, look at it, then hit new posts again and see if the thread you looked at is still listed there.

The problem I'm having is they've closed me out. I can't get in to see what's wrong.

I did try that and it worked like you said. Hey one point up for you.

I had just started the new thread and wanted to check and see if it showed up on New Posts. It didn't and I gave it five to ten minutes and tried again.
The only place I could find it was here in the Inspection Pit, as posted.

No big deal. Just figured something was a miss.

I’m sorry that I read the title wrong. I thought it was talking about just BarstowRick himself. Maybe if I read it a bit slower then I can catch on.

    LOL

I could have made that clearer I suppose but I honestly thought BarstowRick.com would be clear enough.

I'm still here but one never knows for how much longer. None of us knows that.

I checked again today and they won't fix it unless I pay for it. Holding it hostage.
I didn't corrupt the files, something got in their back door.

My web site costs well less than $200.00, annually. I write all the pages, which is really very easy. (CSS3 and HTML5.) I back them all up, right here at home on thumb drives, DVD data disks. Nobody can hold me hostage as I can go to any hosting site I choose. The worst issue I could have is simply the time to re-upload- which in itself is easy.

Wish I had done that. Interesting how hindsight is always 20/20 but looking to the future is like a haze.

i wasn't looking to gain anything from it in the first place. Most everything shared there can be found elsewhere. We miss what we miss and we...oh heck...I don't know. Like anything else, it is what it is.

Thanks for your support and kind words. That is....grin!

    Good news.
BarstowRick.com is back up and running. I have no idea how or why.
My son-in-law sent me an e-mail saying, "It's back up and running."
Originally a Birthday Gift from him.

I checked and sure enough it is. Now am I guilty of " False News? " lol

So we can put the Kleenex away, send the flowers back and turn the memorial service into a party.
    That doesn't happen every day.

Now if I could just get my car fixed, back up and running as easily.

Boston & Maine, Jeff. A special thanks to you and your wife. For your interest in helping me solve this problem.

Bremner, BoxCab, Acptulsa and Eagle thank-you for shared ideas and the flowers. Good one.
To everyone else... for what I've already epressed.

    Let's party.

For certain on the difference between foresight and hindsight. Perhaps this is the time to update/revise some of your practices in line with some very good advice you've been offered?

    Certainly is.
The next question I have to ask my self is how.
I tried taking a posting and putting it on a CD. I lost graphics and the various edit features. The wording was there but without the flourishes.
    I'll work on it.

A wake? This retired mortician saw a few of those, although never allowed to participate. For sure everyone was having a very good time. Well, most of them. I ended up being the designated driver only they never called me that, it was the sober one... Instead of calling me the sober one they called me the somber one. LOL
