The structure was cut down by one stall , the rolling beams were from the scratch box and the crane had to be shortened in three sections. Narrowing the roof was the biggest challange. It has sloped and windowed sections and I cuy them from the far thest point on one side.
That is kind of it in a small nutshell.

I'm really glad to see this one, fifer. I need to build that crane. I was going to cut down only one section but maybe I will do two like you did. Very nice structure and weathering.

Looks good... Funny, I did the opposite... I took the same one and cut it down one story. Haven't finished it though.

    Very interesting!

    Hi Mike...

That is an interesting kitbash. Most of us think along the lines of making these kits larger by combining two or more of them (I know I do). It actually works very well to 'shrink' them too. I like the effect of the roof 'shingle' treatment too

The Post That Will Not Die!!!

Maybe we need to get Buffy, Faith? Van Helsing? to put a stake through its heart.

Does it count if I use structures presently sold under the Walther's imprimatur if I bought them when they were sold as Concor or Heljan?

I used the theater-- it just looks so much like the kind of theater I went to Saturday matinees when I was a kid.

I added signs for amateur movies I made such as "Winners' Moon". This was in the middle of downtown in my East Texas courthouse square town layout. I have so many signature items for the seawall amusement and tourist district on my abuilding Galveston-inspired layout that the theater will probably be relegated to a secondary location...one block OFF Seawall Boulevard.

I have used several Walthers/Heljan/Concor courthouse square store buildings. One became Hervil's Saw and Hardware for the East Texas piney woods town.

That won't fit the bayfront amusement district, but I expect to use one of the related store bukldings for an Army Navy uniform store, and another for the Bon Ton Burlesk Klub.

I worked a number on the Heljan Danish railroad station (was it every offered under the Walther's name?)

I bought a Walther's Brach's Candy Factory because it somewhat resembled the older part of the Maxwell House Coffee Co. in Houston-- one block from Houston Belt & Terminal Milby Street roundhouse. That part of the buiulding started, believe it or not, as an automobile assembly plant in the 1920s. Successive additions to the building mimicked the architectural style, but each new addition was more stylized and simplified. I planned to use this as part of my 30 x 50 foot dream layout, but I no longer expect to be rich enough or live long enough to do all that. I will use Brach's Candy Factory unwrapped and unstacked as a long 2-story front to a block-long waterfront cargo transfer building, over and behind which will be visible the stops of ships.

Of course, I am using Walther’s butterfly passenger sheds for my version of the station, which is now the Galveston Railroad Museum.

Here’s the “Lost Coast Brewery” which I constructed from a Walthers’ Superior Paper along with some bits and pieces from an HO cement plant.

I can’t decide if the “Lost Coast” is the world’s largest micro-brewery or the world’s smallest macro-brewery.

If anyone is interested, I've acculated a bunch of Cornerstone & a bunch of other buildings, including laser cuts. All brand names & new in box. PM me if interested. As long as my hands remain this bad(tremors), I'll never be able to build them.
I hope I am not violating any rule by posting this here. If so just delete it.

Does this one also count as Walthers? It is a Life-Like kit, but the box mentions Life-Like as a 'Division of Wm.K.Walthers, Inc.' and only gives the Walthers address.

It is originally the Life-Like 'Country Store'. I call it the 'Stonefield General Store'. It will be placed on my New Haven layout.
