    Hey guys,
I recently received a Canon DC310 camcorder, which burns onto mini-DVDRs. It has a great quality resolution, and I'm really pleased with it.
    But-
I've figured out how to play the discs it burns on windows media player, but can't seem to be able to rip the disc to my computer, so I can edit them for Youtube videos. Does anyone know how to rip DVD's to Windows Vista?

usually the camcorder will come with some type of editing software that will allow you to save the dvd file to an MPG, AVI, MOV on your computer. as for ripping there is nothing built into Vista, you'd have to download a ripping program. try Free Software Downloads and Reviews - Download.com Once you get the DVD ripped, use Windows Movie Maker to edit, add subtitles and stuff, it's a really good program for simple editing.

good luck. Ripping dvd's is inherently problematic. If your camcorder came with software I would suggest trying that first.

In don't use Vista but I know Windex XP has a program built in that my daughter has used called Windows Movie Maker. This program allows you to edit video and insert audio files into your video clip. Might look for that program in Vista. All you need to do is in the "File" menu click on "import into collections" and download your video clips onto your hard drive then edit from there.

Windows Movie Maker is included with Vista, but it cannot rip a DVD, it can only import non dvd video formats like MPG, WMV, and AVI.

You'll still have to get a separate program to rip the DVD with.

As I know this camera kit contain Pinnacle Studio 10SE that allow full edit video formats.

As for ripping your DVD into a PC hard drive you can use this free software, it's simple to use :

    Hope helps

Yep! Handbrake is a nice "DVD-to-Mpeg-4 converter" , not a real "ripper-compressor". Anyway it do what you need in 1 step! Convert your DVDs to Mpeg4 and save one file on PC for YouTube usage.
