Nice! Did you happen to notice if they were also still working at further extending the tracks?

I did have a nice visit with the train crew, who do a lot more than just run the trains. They are trying to expand the line but there are permits, environmentalists and so on that they have to deal with that are slowing up the process, but is is on their plate. Some track work has been started, but I didn't ask how much was done. They next time we head to Reno for another tournament, another trip to Virginia city will be on the agenda.

Nice coverage of a very historic rail site. Were they hiding the ex-McCloud 18 that day?

I guess they were just doing some maintenence on it. Talking to the crew, they were having a minor firebox problem with #29 and trying to figure out a fix. They were down 20 to 25 pounds on steam pressure and thought it could be fixed. The guy who was filling the firemans seat explained it to me but a lot of it went over my head. The crew was great.

Hope this can happen, and maybe afterward you can give us a further track restoration update.

The next time we do the tournament in Reno, there is no doubt that we will be there. It's at the top of the list, after bowling.
