Next weekend, along with the 'Modeling' contest, we will try a new type of contest.....video! So get you practice shots in this week and get ready for a new contest thats sure to amaze! With Trainboards members all over the world, we should see some really good video here. I will post rules next weekend.
How you do your video will be up to you....I myself use Youtube, but there are others. If this is popular, I am sure we will learn the best way to do videos from other members that post them. We will have a 2-3 min time limit on videos. That will help with viewing. If 8 people post 10 min videos each, it would take a long time to go through them all.
Photobucket Videos One can upload a video clip to Photobucket and then post the thumbnail with a hyperlink to that video clip much like one might post a thumbnail from RailImages that then takes you to the full size image.
YouTube Using you tube which works extremely well with TrainBoard you can post just the URL of the video and the software that runs TrainBoard will automatically convert it to a YouTube inline player. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgPhHtHoolk"]YouTube - European Vacation #18[/ame]
If folks need more help on how both these methods work please feel free to post your questions here in this topic and I as well as others will be glad to help you. :tb-nerd: :tb-nerd: :tb-nerd: :tb-nerd:
Are we talking model railroad or "prototype" railroad video here? Or either? Any rules? Sounds like I'll be dusting off the camera this week! Jamie
Jamie, The first one will be a 'Free-4-All', and then, like the photo contests, we'll rotate between prototype and modelling.
Excellent...thanks for the info. I am in...and good timing I need a mini break from building benchwork for a bit! Jamie
