Upon doing some research I discovered something that has completely escaped their knowledge. There is a 40' Great Northern Boxcar in orange with the road number 46006. Not to be confused with road number 64006. A Second Great Northern boxcar in Green with Orange and Yellow stripes also is numbered 46006. No other Aristocraft cars in any paint scheme or road name have this glitch. My intentions to correct this is to take some orange paint and turn the last 6 into a 5. Rivet Counting? Maybe. But this is actually correcting a factory error imo.

Aristocraft is pretty good about stopping factory mistakes. My friend has the rare SD45 Hustle Mustle Mistake in Great Nothern Colors and a few oddities of Southern Pacific. But those were paint errors. Road numbers I never expected to happen. But it is quite interesting. It completely threw my roster numbers off haha.

DragonFyreGT, It may not be a Aristocraft mistake after all. let me expain, I ran into a similiar problem back in the day when I was running mainly aristocraft items. I had the Aristocraft Rio Grande box car part #46002 (I believe thats the part number) which was yellow with the silver bottom. Par for the course for a Rio Grande box car scheme. Well then I discovered some time later another, but it was Orange with a silver bottom, but with the same stock and road number. during my short time on the Aristocraft forum, I found out from then the experts that the Orange version was made in Korea. When Aristocraft later moved to China the box car color was changed. Who would have known there was a Korean version Aristocraft, but I know now. I don't know if this same scenario fits what happened to you, but this was my experience when I thought there was a mistake also.

Aristo has done two boxcars, one was in GN empire colors/striping and one was plain orange. When the artwork was updated for the orange car a road number was put on the car instead of the item number. As Aristo goes through the older art work the item number is removed and a road number is used.

I ran across some more interesting dual road numbers but this time diffrent rolling stock types. 53170 is one of the road numbers for the Great Northern red stock cars. I know it's been retired so that's why I'm wondering if that's where the 53170 came for the currently produced Big Sky Blue Great Northern Covered Hopper. To me it makes sense. Retire a car road name and it's road number and use it on a different car type and road name.

EDIT: Scratch that, I had to digitally enhance the cars. The Seller on a certain popular auction website has 53170 for.... EVERYTHING
