I am a lock for a future HO Scale special run, you can count on that! Pondering the N Scale car, where to stash it away at in my limited space. May splurge for the cause anyway!
I am going to post some information soon about other scales and ways we can all work together to cause some good things to happen. Charlie
Super, I model N but want to do an HO engine and super detail it to start a HO collection ( not sure what road yet ) and a TB HO car would be spot on !
OK, I'm in. Sucker for special runs. And if you're into old Saturday Night Live routines, you'll understand the Chico Escuela reference: "Trainboard been berra berra good to me"
I maintain the HO layout at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum and am always buying and donating locomotives as they wear out. I am sure an HO special run car would look good on that layout.
That'd be the Camas Prairie RR, grain out of the Palouse - Lewiston area and logging out of Spalding - Cottonwood , co owned by UP and NP now parts of it operate as Bountiful Grain and Craig Mountain RR. Breakheart Pass with Charlies Bronson was filmed on parts of that line 1974-1975. Really slick orange painted GP 30's and one GP 40, past owners of the GP40 - ex-NREX 9970, ex-UP 9970, ex-UP 698, ex-C&NW 5513, ex-PC 3023, nee-NYC 3023. and a couple tunnels , or at least one anyway. 1909 to 1998 Harriman and Hill fighting over who was going to lay what track and end up co owners ... go figure . Sorry Charlie, did not mean to hijack your post / thread ....
Well that messes up my thought that it was the FRISCO. I don't have a clue at this point. My railroad history is poor.
I'm kind of reminded of the scene in The Princess Bride where Vizzini is trying to figure out which goblet to drink from... I suppose if I were truly not lazy, I'd break out my Official Guides and figure it out. The answer must lie somewhere along the Mississippi Valley, no doubt about that. Ah, but I am truly lazy, and the easier way to divine the answer is by using the Official Railway Equipment Registers. Which I have. But my lips are sealed, especially because I might not be right.
Well, looks like we are not going to quite make 100 this evening but you folks have made such an exceptional effort that it is unfair to keep you waiting. Let me say that I hope none of you will be disappointed. We have tried to come up with something very unique and we will do so over and over again if you want us to. We have some very exciting things to talk about with you regarding future special runs and we think it is something that will help model railroading and we here at TrainBoard take great pride in being part of what we think is to come. Back to the task at hand. We are still finalizing details with Micro-Trains. These things do not happen overnight but we are way down the road on this and things are moving at a great pace. We do not have permission to post prototype photos here but we will post links that will show you what your car will be. Let us know what you think. The exact road number is to be determined this week. And, if any of you have other photos or information that will help this project, please come forward at once! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missouri%E2%80%93Illinois_Railroad http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsPicture.aspx?id=485833 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsPicture.aspx?id=671702 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsPicture.aspx?id=671703 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsPicture.aspx?id=287641 http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=47133 http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=52913 Congratulations to member gcav17, who was the only member to correctly guess the road. Thanks again folks and please keep the orders coming! Charlie
