Prototypical ballast - I need some!

    Hi guys,

I'm looking to order some ballast from Arizona Rock and Mineral. Phil Anderson from Azrock kindly replied to my email in regards to shipping to Australia. Shipping is a flat rate box that can hold 24 packets of ballast for $40.00us. Bags of ballast are $5.30us ea btw.

So the question is, do any of you who live down here require some ballast? If a few of us can get together and place an order we could save quite a bit on shipping.

Any takers? I'm in for about 4 to 5 bags of the 1171 ballast and 3 bags of scenery material.

Phill, does Chuck's Ballast have a suitable colour? It's local, well mostly NSW from memory, crushed from rock gathered at the ballast quarries.

I've ordered a few different colours from Chuck, but they just don't seem right.....to my eye anyway.

I would suggest looking for other options, rather than shipping rock around the planet. Check garden supply stores for colored sand or the hardware store for other types of material. there must be some cheap ballast to be found in Australia.

Once you weather your ballast it will change color anyway.
