Not a bad day today on the Ft Wayne line in Canton, OH. Ive seen 3 manifests and 3 coal drags come past the fire station along with some work from the local out of the Canton yard. No heritage today but the one east bound manifest had BNSF power trailing. We will most likely get another manifest thru in the middle of the night. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
How often are the Heritage units showing up? Oh how I wish one would ramble my way, during daylight hours and when I can get to the tracks for a view!
Not very often. I've only seen the Southern, and that was at night. The HU website has alerted me to a couple others, but they weren't days I was working so I missed out. The Ft Wayne is either all or none. When NS is busy its a good line. When they're slow its dead. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Yes I would call it that. The bulk of traffic out of Conway turns north at Alliance, Oh to Cleveland. Back in the day though the Broadway Limited rolled right through Canton. .it was even a pretty busy line when CR had it. NS uses it but its not what it was. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

You a nd me both, but Ft Wayne is too far north of me. Most of the Heritage units have come through though Indiana, one at a time, every few weeks, one was in Muncie, IN just last weekend, a CsX friend of mine went past it, but at 1am in the cab of a CSX loco, not much one can do about it. NS has been far better about keeping them moving than I expected. I figured by now, they'd just be another engine or 17 as far as power desks cared. Most of the time, they get spun at Lafayette, Muncie, or Chi, but mybe one will deadhead west for ya. We get Up heritage in Indiaan sometimes Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk
