That's what I thought. IIRC, it became moderated when it switched to Yahoo. That was such a joke, and ultimately drove many to other venues. Thankfully, the advent of internet discussion forums (such as this fine forum) was soon to come.

Yes. He really got carried away with moderating every single post, to suit his own tastes. That group would have been enormous in member numbers, but instead as you noted, it caused a whole bunch of others to spring up. The creation of BBS software allowed a great leap ahead. TrainBoard being right there at that beginning.
