Just wanted to share that a couple of weeks ago my family purchased a Throttle Time from the WWVR in Connersville, In. This was purchased for me as a Father's Day gift but because of the CV19 outbreak, I had to wait until the museum could reopen. It was a fantastic experence where I got to operate a 1951 Lima-Hamilton switcher. The 750hp switcher is the only one that is still in operation and is in excellent condition.
Part of the experence was a walk-around of the locomotive which was done by the chief of maintance for the railroad. Not only did he explain everything about how the locomotive operated, but even opened access doors and gave me a close up look at the trucks ( friction bearing ), and engine and electrical equipment.
After exiting the yard I was allowed to take the controls and it was the first time I ever operated a locomotive. The rail line was ex- Big Four and Penn Central. The whole experence lasted about an hour and included a one year membership to the museum. Everyone I met and worked with was just fantastic.
I would like to return and ride behind the ex-Milwaukee Road SD10 and ride on the canal boat pulled by horses, which is in Metamora.
    Thanks, Ralph
